On 1 October 2018, the Centre for India Australia Studies was delighted to host the Honourable Mr Kevin Rudd, Former Prime Minister of Australia. Mr Rudd visited Jindal House, New Delhi, for a special breakfast session and spoke in his current capacity as Director, Policy, at the New York-based think tank, Asia Society.
The breakfast session was moderated by Professor Shaun Star.
Mr. Naveen Jindal, Founding Chancellor, O.P. Jindal Global University and Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor, O. P. Jindal Global University both welcomed Mr Rudd, while Ms. Bunty Chand, CEO, Asia Society India delivered a few introductory remarks about the Society and its mission.
Mr Rudd then delivered a lecture on the topic “Australia, India and China: Distant Cousins or Dependant Brothers?” and answered questions from the audience about the role of India and China in a globalizing world.
In attendance was a small group consisting of invitees from the Australian High Commission, Indian politics, and O. P. Jindal Global University.
