Lecture on the “Bihar Famine, Green Revolution and Disaster Imaginaries” by Dr. Adil Hasan Khan, Melbourne Law School


On 2 February 2018, Dr. Adil Hasan Khan, McKenzie Fellow, Melbourne Law School delivered a talk on the “Bihar Famine, Green Revolution and Disaster Imaginaries”, held at O.P. Jindal Global University. The talk explored the techniques used in disaster framing and mobilisation by way of which the development order was re-founded and the massive transformation of the Indian agriculture sector, or the ‘Green Revolution’, was authorised in the 1960s. The discussion was followed by comments from Professor Rajshree Chandra, University of Delhi and Professor Rohini Sen, Jindal Global Law School.
