On 17 April 2019, the Honourable Justice Margaret Beazley QC AO, Governor of New South Wales delivered a distinguished public lecture on “Lessons from the Judiciary: An Australian Perspective”. Justice Beazley shared her experiences as President of the Court of Appeal of New South Wales, focusing on a number of recent judgments of the court. The lecture highlighted the similarities and differences between the Australian and Indian legal systems, and students and faculty were engaged in a discussion on some controversial issues such as conflicts between natural justice and freedom of religion.
