On 13 September 2019, Dr. Julian Droogan, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Security Studies, Macquarie University, Australia delivered a lecture on “Yoga Soft Power: How Flexible is the Posture” at O.P. Jindal Global University in Sonipat. In his talk, he illustrated the rise of the role of yoga as a cultural commodity from India to its use as a nationalist tool in politics to affect internal and global affairs. He then went on to contrast the adoption of yoga as a power strategy to discuss its limitations and future challenges as a soft power tool. This lecture was attended by students from Jindal Global Law School.
