If My Textbooks Could Speak – By Hedwig

This is the fifth poem in a series of poems that explore what the commonplace objects in a student’s life would say if they underwent an Enid Blyton-esque change overnight, and could speak. This one has been written in the form of a Limerick.

My Textbooks would tell me I’m unforgiven,

For I draw up a study schedule but, even then,

You can be rest assured,

I won’t open them before

The day my Exam is to be given.
