The two-year M.Sc. degree addresses the significant mental health needs in India by bridging the gap between training and practice. The programme is grounded in the globally recognised scientist-practitioner model, integrating theoretical knowledge, ethical standards, research, and practical training to equip students with comprehensive competencies required for effective counselling practice.

Framework: This Master's programme is grounded in the globally recognised scientist-practitioner model. It integrates theoretical knowledge, ethical standards, research, and practical training to equip students with the comprehensive competencies required for effective counselling practice. It has been designed keeping in mind two key criteria:

Programme Structure: Each semester is designed to advance knowledge and practice from a beginner to an advanced level of expertise needed for practicing as a Counselling Psychologist.
Practical Experience: Students will gain hands-on experience at on-campus site (JGU Psychology Lab), school-based settings, and community-based settings. The programme aims to (i) utilise the JGU Psychology Research Lab for mental health screenings and counselling; (ii) collaborate with local schools to provide supervised counselling services; (iii) conduct awareness programmes and mental health screening camps for local community.

Eligibility: Students with B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) or B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) in Psychology will be eligible to apply for the M.Sc. in Counselling Psychology programme at JSPC.
Admission Criteria
Applicants for postgraduate programme at JSPC will be selected based on their performance in Jindal PMAT and personal interaction.
