Jindal School of Journalism and Communication presented a performance on Vijay Tendulkar’s classic play “Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe” (Silence! The Court is in Session). It questions the ideas of gender, morality and justice. What starts as a mock trial for a group of actors, turns into a character assassination plot. A fine example of Indian realism, the play strips away the veneer of respectability to expose deep-seated prejudices and cruelty beneath ordinary societal norms.

A group of first year students from Jindal School of Journalism and Communication have worked on parts of it as a classroom exercise. It happened on 10th May, at 6:30pm onwards, at JSJC Film & Television Studio and Multimedia Lab.
