Biography

Athar Rather is an award-winning Senior Creative Producer at The Quint, where he has spearheaded high-impact visual storytelling projects and directed award-winning investigative and human-interest stories since 2020. He previously served as Senior Multimedia Producer at Hindustan Times (digital), where he conceptualised and delivered groundbreaking multimedia content and documentaries. His accolades include the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism (2023), the Laadli Media Award for Gender Sensitivity (2024), the AFAQS Best Investigative Reporting Award (2024), and the India Audio Summit Best Show Host in Fiction Podcast (2021–2022). He holds an MA in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia and a BA in Mass Communication & Multimedia Production from the University of Kashmir.
