What Makes It Different at JGU? 

  • Jindal School of Banking & Finance (JSBF) is a globally recognised institution that offers a four-year fully residential B.Com. (Hons.) degree programme. The school is focused on developing a new generation of leaders for the financial services industry, using a research-led, future-oriented, and interdisciplinary approach. JSBF offers a dynamic and customisable curriculum that is crafted in consultation with industry experts, emphasising communication and leadership skills. The B.Com. programme is designed to provide students with a global perspective and practical skills that are highly sought-after in the industry.
  • JSBF offers an interdisciplinary education that draws on the strengths of 12 collaborative schools. Students can choose from four different inter-disciplinary pathways, including Financial Planning & Management, Banking & Finance Law, Fintech & Analytics, and Global Consultancy & Entrepreneurship. The programme offers 100+ optional electives, allowing students to tailor their curriculum to their interests and career goals.
  • JSBF partners with EY, KPMG, NISM, NSE Academy, and ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the U.K.) to provide professional certification and training to B.Com. students, enabling them to explore rewarding career opportunities. The school also offers international collaborations, including summer/winter school, short-term study abroad, semester exchange, dual-degree programme, and certification programme.
Programme Structure

The Bachelor of Commerce Honours programme at Jindal School of Banking and Finance (JSBF) is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary commerce and business practices. The programme curriculum comprises both core and elective courses, which engage students in practices of enquiry, contemplation, and analysis of practical business problems. The teaching methods provide a strong foundation in the subject matter, fostering in-depth learning of the concepts to make students industry-ready for the globalised world.

The core courses of the B. Com programme include Financial Mathematics, Corporate Finance, Financial Technology, Law, Accounting, Economics and Statistics, while the elective courses are comprised of allied fields relating to the core courses. The teaching methods include critical thinking, real-life business case-solving, building professional certifications, and skill-based training on analytical tools such as R, Python, Tableau, and MS Excel.

To obtain a 4-year B. Com. (Hons.), a student needs to complete 180 credits; it covers 164 credits for the core as well as elective courses, and the remaining 16 credits should be earned from other activities that include 08 credits from industry internships and the remaining 08 credits from research, TA ship, and other co-curricular activities

Eligibility & Selection Process

Successful completion of Class XII or equivalent examination in any stream from an Indian or International Board (CBSE | ISC | State Board | NIOS | CAIE* | IB**) recognized by AIU – Association of Indian Universities.

* CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education) 

  • Minimum five passes at IGCSE/GCSE/GCE “O” Level Examinations, including English, of the approved British Examining Bodies, has been equated with Grade 10 of an Indian Board.
  • Minimum 2/3 passes at GCE “Advanced” (A) Level Examination of the approved British Examining Bodies, has been equated with +2 stage qualifications of an Indian Board.

** IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma / Course (Certificate) students pursuing a minimum of 3 HL (Higher Learning) & 3 SL (Standard Learning) subjects must secure a minimum of 24 Credits.

Applicants are selected through a holistic admission process conducted over three rounds based on X and XII grades, Supplementary Questions, Entrance Exam (SAT ≥ 1100 score | ACT ≥ 27 Points | UGAT/ CUET ≥ 60 Percentile or Online JSAT (Jindal Scholastic Aptitude Test) ≥50Percentage, conducted by JGU.

Jindal School of Banking & Finance follows a holistic admission process. An applicant is evaluated on the basis of a combination of Academic and non-academic performance scores.
The online admission process for JSBF undergraduate programmes for the academic year is open. Please find the details of the selection process below.

Round 1- Application Assessment

  • To start your application register with an active email address. Your login details will be sent to this email account after due verification. All relevant information will be communicated to the applicant at this registered email address.
  • The applicant should provide all the information sought in the application, both in the mandatory and non-mandatory sections, as it will help in better evaluation.
  • Please keep scanned copies of the following documents handy for uploading:
    • Class X Board Scores or Equivalent and Class XII Board Scores or Equivalent (if completed)
    • Passport Size Photograph
    • Competitive exam score

X and XII Board Exam Scores

  • Applicants are required to upload their Grades/Scores for class 10th (or equivalent) and class 12th (or equivalent). If the applicant does not have their Class XII grades/scores at the time of applying, he/she may mention ‘Awaited’ in the relevant column.

Passport Size Photograph

  • Please upload the recent front-facing/camera looking picture with a neutral background. Selfies not permissible. 

Qualifying Competitive Examination Score

  • Mention the relevant score (JSAT / ACT / SAT / UGAT / CUET - 2026) in the application form.
  • If an applicant is yet to appear for any qualifying examinations or is awaiting the examination results, he/she may click ‘Awaited’ in the relevant column. 
  • Students who have not appeared for SAT / ACT / UGAT / CUET – 2026 are encouraged to apply through JSAT – Jindal Scholastic Aptitude Test. Admissions at JGU are on first come first served basis depends on the seat’s availability.

Supported Documents for Extra-Curricular Activities

  • The applicant can attach relevant documents (certificates, artwork, writing samples, letters of recommendation, etc.) for the extra-curricular section to substantiate the listed activities.

An Online Application Number will be displayed upon successful submission of the form. The applicant must use the ‘Application Number’ as a reference while communicating with us.

Round 2- Online Entrance Examination
Appearing for Entrance Exam (JSAT, SAT, UGAT, CUET)

  • Students qualifying the minimum cut-off requirements as mentioned in eligibility criteria in the entrance exam will be notified over call/e-mail and shall move to Round 3.

Round 3- Online Faculty Interview

  • Applicants will be interviewed by a JSBF faculty members. They are evaluated based on their communication skills, confidence, curiosity, clarity of expression, nuanced thinking, and subject knowledge.
  • Candidates shortlisted after Interview shall receive a Provisional Offer of Admissions over email.
  • If an applicant does not respond within the stipulated time their application is declared inactive.
  • Candidates who are willing to enroll are required to pay the refundable registration fee of Rs. 1,25,000 to secure a seat. (Please check refund policy).
  • After the declaration of Board results, students need to forward their transcripts to the Admission Staff.
  • Students qualifying for the Scholarship will be notified separately over email and their respective amount is adjusted in their 2nd Semester fee.

Waitlisted Applicants

  • Applicants may also be waitlisted depending on their results. Waitlisted applicants are requested to upload their XII results as soon as they are released. Such applicants may also be asked to do an additional interview.

If any individual or organisation approaches you demanding money, donations, or favours for admission, please immediately report the matter to the police and to the Registrar of the O.P.Jindal Global University at registraroffice@jgu.edu.in

All admissions to JGU’s academic programmes are conducted strictly on merit. JGU has no management quota, no donation/capitation seats, no NRI/Foreign National quota, and no special quota of any kind.

Paying or offering any form of donation or capitation fee for admission to JGU is illegal, and individuals involved in such activities are liable for criminal prosecution.

*The Tuition fee, accommodation charges and other allied service charges are subject to an annual increase of up-to 10%.

**The security deposit will be fully refunded, subject to the completion of studies and/or receipt of a ‘No Dues Certificate’. The security deposit shall not carry any interest.

Students are also encouraged to actively participate in co-curricular activities such as the JSBF Report, the flagship conference of the Jindal School of Banking & Finance, and the Jindal Centre for Social Innovation+ Entrepreneurship.

Additionally, graduates have the opportunity to work on faculty-led and industry projects, participate in research internships, and pursue independent research projects, which can help them gain practical experience and develop essential skills.
 

Electives

The B.Com. (Hons.) programme at Jindal School of Banking & Finance is designed to provide students with a unique and customisable curriculum that can cater to their interests and career aspirations.

The programme offers varied range of electives related to Financial Planning and Risk Management, Banking Laws and Financial Regulations, Fintech and Analytics, and Global Consultancy and Entrepreneurship.

  • The Financial Planning and Risk Management pathway prepares students for a career in the stock markets and includes courses on credit appraisal, behavioural finance, corporate restructuring, and international corporate finance.
  • The Banking Laws and Financial Regulations pathway equips students with knowledge of the intricacies of regulations and guidelines that financial institutions must follow, making them suitable for a career in international law firms, investment banks, accounting firms, international corporations, or as fund managers.
  • The Fintech and Analytics pathway prepares students to apply emerging technologies such as blockchain, robotics, and data analytics to banking and finance.
  • The Global Consultancy and Entrepreneurship pathway provides students with the knowledge and skills required to solve problems faced by organizations as part of global consulting firms or launch new ventures to make the most of new business opportunities.

Students can also choose from various optional electives that cover topics such as data analysis, risk management, management consulting, money in the making of the modern world, social impact and entrepreneurship, global political economy, strategic cost management, renewable energy financing, income tax, and fraud risk assessment and governance mechanisms.

Students can also choose an elective course from the other 11 schools as per their interest.
 

Scholarships
  • The scholarships will be awarded on a merit-cum-means basis, for which the Income Tax documents are required by the scholarship committee to evaluate the means criteria.
  • The Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship covers the tuition fee only.
  • Students are not eligible to receive multiple scholarships or fee concessions.
  • All scholarships and fellowships are subject to review.
  • Education Loan Support: JGU has established tie-ups with AVANSE (ICICI), Dena Bank, Axis Bank, and Credila (HDFC) to facilitate educational loans for admitted students at the university. Learn more about education loan support here.
  • Scholarships are limited to budget and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Rules and regulations related to scholarships are reviewed annually to adapt to external changes and uncertainties, ensuring maximum benefit for students.
