Vinitika secured her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Jindal Global Law School in 2018. She acquired her LL.M. in International Law from the University of Cambridge in 2019. Her area of interest is in the intersections of international trade law and international environmental law, primarily trade-and-environment issues at the World Trade Organisation. She is currently pursuing a fully funded PhD at the University of New South Wales in Australia, where she is exploring how developing countries should be treated at the World Trade Organisation within the trade-and-environment matrix.
She has taught International Trade Law and International Human Rights Law as compulsory courses and has offered self-designed electives on Trade and Environment through a Developing Country’s lens, Trade and Development, and Environment and Economic Law.
Her recent publications focus on how measures like the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism may be necessary but still imposed in an imperialistic manner. She has further published a critique on the lack of necessary concern for developing countries during the negotiations of the Fisheries Subsidies Agreement. Her previous publications have explored other contemporary issues in public international law, especially international trade law, such as pre-emptive use of force and the constitutional interpretation of ‘public body’ under the WTO Subsidies Agreement.
