Biography

Tanvi Chitranshi is a Lecturer at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS). She holds a First Class Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law, Development and Globalisation from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Her master's dissertation, “Adjudication of the Right to Housing: Exploring the Relevance of the ‘Minimum Core’ in Confronting Structural Inequalities Affecting the Right,” was awarded distinction. She completed her undergraduate legal education at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata.

At JGLS, Tanvi has served as an Assistant Editor for the Jindal Global Law Review (JGLR) and as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Public Interest Law (CPIL). Her research at CPIL focused on the intersections between climate change-induced migration and development, examining these issues through both international and domestic legal frameworks. Prior to joining JGLS, she has also contributed to several research initiatives, including the Madhya Pradesh Migrant Workers Project and projects concerning mental health and law with the Antahkarana Group.

Tanvi’s research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of law and society, human rights, climate change and migration, critical constitutionalism, critical legal theory, and feminist jurisprudence. Her scholarship has been published by the Oxford Human Rights Hub, and she has presented her work at leading academic forums, including the 18th Melbourne Doctoral Forum on Legal Theory at the University of Melbourne.

At JGLS, she teaches Administrative Law and Constitutional Law. She has also assisted in teaching courses related to environmental law, development and human rights, and foundational aspects of international law.
