Centre for Advancing Research in Management and Law (CARML)

About Us

The Centre for Advancing Research in Management and Law (CARML) aims to promote and propel inter-, multi-, and trans-disciplinary inquiry into contemporary business management phenomena with implications for law, policy, and society. At the outset, a phenomenon the centre aims to explore is ‘Conscious Consumerism’, which, in recent times, has completely disrupted the way people consume everything – food (veganism), clothing (thrifting, anti-consumption), content (boycott), etc. Such a phenomenon demands inquiry by leveraging multiple disciplines (including Marketing, Economics, Law, Nutrition Studies, Neuroscience, Governance, etc.) and approaches (Phenomenology, Practice Theory, Social Experiments, etc.). Other phenomena which the centre is exploring are ‘Inclusivity,’ ‘De-growth,’ ‘Corporate Fraud,’ ‘Frugality,’ ‘Cultural Appropriation,’ ‘Financial Literacy,’ and ‘Branding Pop Culture’. The centre aims to achieve this objective by creating and promoting pathways via research methodologies, tools, and techniques among research enthusiasts. The centre will also provide experiential training, such as fieldwork, hands-on training, and co-authorships, to young scholars and research enthusiasts through mentorship programs. The centre also serves as a platform for generating knowledge through cross-disciplinary collaborative interactions and research with other professional institutions in India and abroad.
