Biography

Raushan pursued her LLM at the University of Cambridge as a Commonwealth Shared Cambridge Trust Scholar with a specialisation in International Law. She completed her integrated Bachelor of Arts and Law from Amity Law School, Delhi, IP University, with a focus on international and corporate law. After graduation, she worked with a former Union Law Minister and a Senior Advocate for many years, focusing on human rights, corporate litigation, and policy research. She was instrumental in espousing very important national and international human rights causes like asylum for the Rohingyas in India, the dignity of the elderly, and the cause of custodial torture. Her major research focus was refugee law in South Asia and the role religion plays in granting asylum in India. She has a host of publications on human rights and technology, often examining how technology affects civil and political rights and how it can be leveraged to advance human rights.

Her current research focuses on international environmental law, climate justice, climate finance, ESG regulation, constitutional environmentalism, and the governance of global commons, particularly through the lens of Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL). She has authored and co-authored numerous publications in leading journals, edited volumes, and policy reports on climate governance, Arctic governance, sustainable finance, and environmental constitutionalism.
