Prof. Shama Banoo Hussain Abbasi

Prof. Abbasi is a Assistant Professor and Assistant Director, Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Peace Studies, JGU at the O.P. Jindal Global University. She works with the Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Peace Studies. Her research focuses on Islamic Feminism and the interface between State Power and Human Rights.

She has many experiences working with UN organizations – the UNMICT (Arusha) and the UNHCR (Delhi), and NGOs in the fields of International Criminal and Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. Ms. Abbasi holds a B.C.L. from the University of Oxford and a B.A.LL.B (Hons.) from the Jindal Global Law School.
