Prof. Raabia Abuzer Shams is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean (Office of Student Affairs and Initiatives) at Jindal Global Law School. After completing her B.A. LL.B from Chanakya National Law University, Patna, she attended the LL.M in International Human Rights program at the University of Essex, on the Academic Excellence Award. She is currently a Ph.D. scholar at Jindal Global Law School.
Prof. Shams is a nominated member to the Board of Studies, Department of Contemporary and Tribal Customary Law, Central University of Jharkhand. She is also on the Editorial Board of JSIL International Law Journal, GLC Mumbai. Before joining JGU, she was an Assistant Professor at National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi, where she handled elective courses in constitutional law (Media Law and Comparative Federalism) and international law (International Human Rights Law, Maritime Law, and Humanitarian & Refugee Law).
Her research interests are in the areas of human rights law (particularly the intersection of technology and human rights), health law, and the laws pertaining to indigenous & tribal societies.
