Prof. Amit Upadhyay is an Associate Professor in the Jindal Global Law School. He graduated with a B.A., LL.B. (Hons) degree from Amity Law School, New Delhi with specialization in International Humanitarian Law. He was awarded prestigious DAAD scholarship to pursue further studies in European and International Law. He earned his master’s degree in International Business, Competition and Regulatory Law from Freie Universität, Berlin, Germany as a DAAD Scholar. During his master’s studies, he dealt with legal issues pertaining to cartels, structural links, private enforcement and various other contemporary issues in international business and competition law.

Amit has previously worked at the Competition Commission of India, New Delhi wherein he carried out policy advocacy and research on issues pertaining to effective enforcement of competition law before joining Amity Law School, Noida as an Assistant Professor to pursue an academic career. He has been awarded several scholarships and fellowships to participate in academic conferences and programs worldwide by organizations like Robert Bosch Foundation, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), BMZ, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, State Bank of India and International Institute of Human Rights, Strasbourg etc. He has represented India in various summits on leadership, democracy and human rights organized by Hesselbein Global Academy, Council of Europe and European Parliament etc. He was awarded “Judge Nagendra Singh Memorial Award” and the Gold Medal in the Post Graduate Diploma Course in Human Rights, and International Humanitarian Law offered by Indian Academy of International Law and Diplomacy, ISIL, New Delhi.

As a DAAD Young Ambassador, he has been working towards strengthening Indo-German academic exchange. His academic and research areas are Competition Law, International Law, Constitutional Law, Public Policy and Good Governance etc. He nurtures a keen interest in designing and implementing knowledge sharing and advocacy strategies to raise awareness about inclusion, sustainable development and good governance. He enjoys playing and watching sports in his free time and, is also a travel enthusiast.
