Oiswarjya holds an LL.M in International Commercial and Economic Law from SOAS, University of London as the recipient of the William Ross Murray Scholarship. She was also awarded the International Students House Bursary to cover her living expenses in London and the Yusuf Ali Grant to fund her dissertation. During the course of her degree, she was engaged as the Research Assistant to Dr. Emilia Onyema (Professor of International Commercial Arbitration at SOAS). In the 2020 Mock Arbitration organized by SOAS and assessed by WilmerHale, London, she acted as a counsel to the claimant.
Oiswarjya graduated with a B.A.LL.B (Hons.) from the Department of Law, University of Calcutta wherein she holds the university highest score in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Simultaneously, she had undertaken diverse internships ranging from grassroots level non-profit organizations to prominent law firms and wrote papers that went on to secure her publications and conference presentations.
Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Oiswarjya worked at Sinha & Co. (Solicitors) for two years under the mentorship of Mr. Paritosh Sinha (Ld. Advocate-on-Record for the State of West Bengal). Here, she worked on arbitration (domestic and foreign), commercial litigation and mediation primarily in energy and infrastructure, mining, consumer market and non-banking financial sectors. Her core research interests lie in alternative dispute resolution with a keen focus on investment arbitration, public international law as well as aspects of company law, vis-à-vis, insolvency and allied corporate legislations. She is passionate about climate change and sustainable development and often writes on environmental issues in the backdrop of international investment law.
