The JGLS Research Deans' Office is pleased to invite you to the third JGLS Faculty Research Seminar of Spring 2025 to be held on March 04, 2025, from 1:20 to 3:20 PM.
 
The first speaker, Professor Lars Aaberg, will present their paper titled, ‘Anthropological Futures of Queer and Trans Life? Thinking In, Against, and Beyond European Academia’. Professors Dhiren Borisa and Prerna Subramanian will serve as commentators.
 
The second speaker, Professor Aashita Dawer, will present their paper titled, ‘Primacy of Property as Devolution of Rights: Case of Women in India through the Lens of Inheritance Laws.’ Professors Ruchira Sen and Manika Bora will serve as commentators.
 
The venue for the seminar is T1-F14, Big Bang Conference Room (First Floor).
 
Each speaker will present their work for 7-10 minutes, followed by comments from the discussants (10 minutes each), followed by Q and A.  The paper abstracts are attached.
 
As communicated earlier, the idea of these seminars is to allow faculty members to have their research ideas discussed in a collegial and collaborative atmosphere and to acquaint colleagues with the work of their peers in order to promote cross-fertilization of research ideas. For these aims to be successfully met, we would require the active participation of both early career scholars and senior faculty members to ensure attendance at these events. These are faculty-only events and are organised keeping in mind the research goals of the participants as well as the institution as a whole. We encourage you to support this endeavor through your active participation!
