O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) has made a remarkable national and international debut through its first-ever participation in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026. This significant milestone is a powerful reflection of the founding vision of the University, the institutional inspiration that has guided its growth, and the sustained commitment and collective effort that have shaped JGU’s exceptional journey over the years.
JGU is ranked 1st in India for Law, placing within the top 300 globally among universities from 53 countries, with International Outlook emerging as its strongest pillar—underscoring JGU’s deep global engagement and international reputation. This achievement further reinforces JGU’s leadership as Number One in Law in India across major global rankings, including THE, QS, and EduRank, firmly positioning JGU among the world’s leading institutions in legal education and research.
Recognised as one of the world’s most credible and influential higher education benchmarks—trusted by students, academics, governments, and industry leaders—the THE Subject Rankings evaluated 2,191 universities across 115 countries and territories, with only institutions meeting stringent standards of data quality, teaching excellence, and research performance included. JGU’s powerful performance in this highly selective global exercise underscores its rapid rise, academic credibility, and growing international reputation. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. Notably, 60–65% of the methodology is designated to research pillars—research environment, research quality, research outlook, and industry engagement.
This robust framework ensures a balanced, globally benchmarked assessment of institutional excellence across teaching, research, and engagement. JGU extends special congratulations to the Jindal Global Law School, its faculty and students, for reaffirming JGU’s undisputed leadership in Law, particularly the leadership of Professor Dipika Jain, Executive Dean of JGLS
