On the 10th of April, Ms. Niharika Salar will be delivering a Guest Lecture on the topic "The evolving notions in Geographical Indications laws: Rethinking heritage protection in Indian textiles."

Ms. Salar is a doctoral candidate at the School of Law, Queen’s University Belfast, and a recipient of the prestigious Northern Ireland Department for Economy postgraduate scholarship. Her ongoing research sits at the intersection of Intellectual Property Law, community rights, traditional weaving techniques, and the impact of fast fashion. Prior to her doctoral studies, she spent over three years designing and teaching Intellectual Property Law courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at NALSAR University of Law, India. She holds degrees from the Faculty of Law, the National University of Singapore, and the National University of Study & Research in Law, India.
