The JGLS Research Deans' Office is pleased to invite you to the first JGLS Faculty Research Seminar of Spring 2025 to be held on February 18, 2025, from 1:20 to 3:20 PM.

The first speaker, Professor Devina Malaviya, will present their paper titled,  ‘Examining Marriage through a Constitutional Lens’. Professors Niharika Banerjea and Harikartik Ramesh will serve as commentators.

The second speaker Professor Daniel Stein will present their paper titled, ‘TWAIL Positivism at ITLOS: Second Waves Crash in Climate Change Advisory Opinion Submission’. Professors BS Chimni and Harshit Rai will serve as commentators.

The venue for the seminar is T1-F14, Big Bang Conference Room (First Floor).

Each speaker will present their work for 7-10 minutes, followed by comments from the discussants (10 minutes each), followed by Q and A.  The paper abstract is attached.

As communicated earlier, the idea of these seminars is to allow faculty members to have their research ideas discussed in a collegial and collaborative atmosphere and to acquaint colleagues with the work of their peers in order to promote cross-fertilization of research ideas. For these aims to be successfully met, we would require the active participation of both early career scholars and senior faculty members to ensure attendance at these events. These are faculty-only events and are organised keeping in mind the research goals of the participants as well as the institution as a whole. We encourage you to support this endeavor through your active participation!

Light Lunch will be served.
