The Centre for International Legal Studies (CILS) will be holding the 12th lecture in its Young Professionals in International Law Lecture Series on Tuesday, 22 April, 2025. 

Venue: Elysium, Ratan Jindal Academic Block (T3) 2nd Floor (Sheesh Mahal)

Dr. Ashna Singh, Assistant Professor and UNHCR Chair of Refugee Law, National Law School of India University, Bangalore will deliver a lecture on ‘Caste as a Category in Refugee Law’. Dr. Singh was a Visiting Scholar at the Humboldt University, Berlin funded by DAAD (October- December 2024). She is also a part of the Asia Justice Coalition Project where she is currently designing and organizing women-led initiatives for women practicing and furthering International Law in India.

Prof. Rohini Sen, Associate Professor, Jindal Global Law School will be the commentator for this lecture. Prof. Sen teaches as a Visiting faculty at many institutions across India. She teaches and writes about Critical Approaches to International Law (CAIL), critical pedagogy, queer feminist approaches, and different cosmologies of knowledge. 

Prof. Adwait Mitra, Lecturer and Fellow, Centre for International Legal Studies, Jindal Global Law School, will be the moderator.
