Kolawole Olalekan Afuwape obtained an LL.B. in 1999 from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria; Barrister at Law from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja in 2001; and an LLM Maritime and Commercial Laws in 2010 from the Lagos State University, Ojo, Nigeria.

He is currently pursuing a second LLM in International Energy Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom. Kolawole Olalekan Afuwape prior to his leaving for the United Kingdom to pursue a further second master’s degree in International Energy Law and Policy worked with First Bank of Nigeria Limited for 19 years where he worked in several departments of the Bank from Relationship Management to Legal Services, Internal Audit, and Remedial and Classified Assets Management.

He is a chartered member of the following professional bodies in Nigeria, the Nigerian Bar Association; the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria; the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations; Risk Management Association of Nigeria (now the Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria).

His areas of interest are Capital Market Law; Energy Law; Company Law and Practice, Banking Law, International Economic Law.
