Biography

Utkarsh graduated with a B.A L.L.B (Hons.) degree from Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam in the year 2019 and thereupon completed his L.L.M from National Law Institute University, Bhopal specializing in the area of Human Rights and Criminal law. He worked on the topic of commercial surrogacy and its various aspects especially from the perspective of rights to livelihood of surrogate mother during his masters.

His research interest lies towards the contemporary socio-legal issues and has published articles and journals on the topics relating to de-criminalization of homosexuality, rights of transgender, relationship between a partnership firm and Hindu Undivided family etc. Before joining Jindal Global University as an Assistant Lecturer, he has worked as an Academic Tutor & TRIP Fellow at Jindal Global Law School. He also worked as a research associate under the Centre for Justice, Law and Society wherein he worked on Anti-Caste Discrimination project.

He also had the opportunity to intern in prominent offices including Ministry of Law & Justice, High court of Judicature at Allahabad, and also under the guidance of advocate practicing in both civil and criminal field and also in a leading firm. His area of interest lies in Human rights, environmental law, criminal law and constitutional law.
