Swati has worked as a consultant for the 1970 Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transport of Ownership of Cultural Property unit of the culture section at UNESCO, Paris. She is a law graduate who completed her master’s in international law (LLM) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, United States and her 5 years integrated Bachelor of Law degree (B.A.LLB Hons.) from Gujarat National Law University, Gujarat, India.

As an active member of the GNLU-Gujarat Maritime Board Chair in Maritime Laws and Practices, Swati developed a keen interest in the field of policy and legislative research. Some of her independent researches include law and economic analysis of civil nuclear liability regime in India and rights of the indigenous people in India. She also undertook an empirical research for OXFAM on the changing pattern of violence against women with specific focus on the state of Uttar Pradesh, India and for UNICEF on child labor in the traditional carpet industry of India.
