Biography

Sonal Hundlani holds a B.B.A. LL.B from Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and an LLM in International Law and Public Interest laws from Pennsylvania State University, USA. Subsequently, she has worked as a Teaching Assistant with the Assistant Dean of Graduate and International Programs at Penn State Law, Stephen G. Barnes.

Her interest lies in Human Rights, Public Policy, Law and Religion, and Bankruptcy and Insolvency Laws. Post her graduation she has worked with government and private institutions to acquire knowledge and understand the practicalities of the areas of her interest.

As a promising academician, she has also authored and published several research papers involving varied contemporary subjects viz. environmental laws, bankruptcy and insolvency laws and international relations.

Previously, Sonal was working as a Teaching Assistant with the Assistant Dean of Graduate and International Programs at Penn State Law, Stephen G. Barnes before joining JGLS.

Having worked closely with the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and several other institutions of public importance in the past, she has acquired apposite experience in research and drafting. To her credit, she has also authored and published several research papers on varied contemporary subjects like environmental laws, insolvency laws and international relations, to name a few.

She has been an active member of the moot court society, winning accolades at various national-level competitions. She also has the distinction of serving at the organising committee of the college’s national youth festival for three consecutive years.

Paper titled ‘Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code and Evolving Paradigm of Corporate Governance Principles’, co-authored with Dr. Neeti Shikha, was published in Critical Essays on Corporate Laws in India. The book was published by the Cochin University of Science and Technology, ISBN: 978-81-941516-8-5.

Paper titled ‘China and India’s Stand on Belt and Road Initiative – An Assessment of the Initiative and India’s Membership in it’, published in International Journal for Research in Law, ISSN – 2454-8715, Vol.

Issue 4. The paper discusses the initiative and its impact on the South Asian region, India in particular.

‘Paper titled Can we finally hear them crying?’ published in Indian Journal of Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Law, ISSN: 2518 – 8992. Based on the High Court of Himachal Pradesh’s judgment whereby it extended human rights to geographical and natural features like the Himalayas, Ganga and Yamuna.

Paper titled ‘Extent of Original Jurisdiction of Supreme Court’ published in World Journal of Juristic Policy, Volume No. 03, No. 02. ISSN: 2394-5044.
