Biography

Prakhar Pandey is an environmental law scholar and practitioner with nearly a decade of experience at the intersection of environmental/ climate justice, practice, and legal education. He is a clinical faculty at Jindal Global Law School and is currently leading the Environmental Law Clinic at as its Assistant Director. He develops and teaches clinical courses, supervises paralegal and other programmes, and leads the clinic's research and advocacy projects.

His career spans multiple domains of environmental practice. As an Associate at Enviro Legal Defence Firm (ELDF), he has worked on environmental litigation matters before the National Green Tribunal, the High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India. As a Sustainability Consultant at dss+ (formerly Sofies), he has worked on several environmental operations and management projects including ESDD projects. And as an academic, he has taught core and elective courses on environmental and energy law at Alliance University, Karnavati University, and TERI School of Advanced Studies.

Prakhar holds an LL.M. in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from TERI SAS (2017) and a B.A. LL.B. from Lloyd Law College, Chaudhary Charan Singh University (2016). He was also a fellow at Urban Fellows Programme (2021-22 cohort) at Indian Institute for Humans Settlements (IIHS) and has been awarded an ESG Fellowship by HP and Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA).

His current work focuses on building and experimenting with pedagogies and integrating interdisciplinary approaches in clinical teaching; innovating environmental legal education; and mainstreaming environmental justice through community-grounded approaches, collaborative partnerships, research and writing.
