Biography

Nisha Nair joined JGU in May 2014 and is currently a Professor of Humanities at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) and Vice Dean at the Office of Admissions and Outreach. She is a Senior Fellow at the International Institute for Higher Education Research and Capacity Building (IIHEd) at O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU). She has been a part of the Office of Academic Affairs and has served as Assistant Dean (Mentorship Programme), Associate Dean (Teaching Assistantship), and the Director for JGLS Arts Programmes; B.A. Legal Studies and B.A. Criminology and Criminal Justice. 

She pursued undergraduate and postgraduate education in English Literature from the University of Delhi and obtained a Master’s in Education from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi and holds a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi.

Her research work explores education policy, quality and strategies to enhance educational outcome in tertiary education. Prof. Nair has over 15 years of experience in the field of education. She has been a key contributor and co-author of the State Higher Education Plan for Haryana under the Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan. She also contributed in developing the implementation plan for National Educational Policy 2020, a project undertaken by IIHEd in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

She is the founding faculty convener for the Gender Studies Group, JGU Book Club, JGU Shakespeare’s Guild and serves as coordinator for the Literary and Fine Arts Society.
