Biography

Dr Harkiran Sehgal is a Lecturer at Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University, India. She holds a Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa, where she conducted doctoral research in International Criminal Law. She also holds an LL.M. in International Law and Global Governance from Tilburg University, the Netherlands.

Before joining Jindal Global Law School, Dr Sehgal served as an Assistant Professor at Manipal Law School, Bengaluru, where she taught courses in legal education, moot court and human rights.

Dr Sehgal's research focuses primarily on International Criminal Law, Human Rights Law, and victim participation before the International Criminal Court. Her doctoral research examined restorative justice for victims of sexual violence and critically analysed the victim participation regime under the Rome Statute. Her broader research interests include international humanitarian law, complementarity, and the rights and experiences of victims of conflict-related sexual violence.
