Biography

Aparna Venkatachalam holds an LL.M. in Access to Justice from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, and an LL.B. as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Mumbai.

She began her legal career as an in-house counsel with a real estate company, where she gained practical experience in real estate practice. She has been associated with Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) for over three years, initially serving as a TRIP Fellow and Academic Tutor and currently as a Lecturer.

During her tenure at JGLS, she has taught several core law courses such as  Contract Law II, Criminal Law, Property Law, Human Rights Law and Theory, Moot Court and Trial Advocacy, and Constitutional Theory as well as assisted in teaching electives such as International Humanitarian Law, Rural Governance, and Constitutional Arguments.  

She also served as a Research Fellow at the Centre for the Study of the United Nations, JGLS, where she coordinated academic events and hosted distinguished speakers, including officials from the United Nations Office in New Delhi and a former Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

In addition to her teaching and research responsibilities, she has actively participated in online workshops and numerous Faculty Development Programmes, reflecting her commitment to continuous professional growth and academic excellence.
