Aneeshaa Dev is an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University, with teaching and professional expertise at the intersection of technology law, AI governance, digital policy, platform regulation, data protection, intellectual property, and business strategy. Her academic and professional work sits at the increasingly important interface between law, technology, markets, and institutional governance.
She holds a B.B.A. LL.B. from Symbiosis International University (not a B.A. Hons.), an LL.M. in Entertainment and Media Laws from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and an M.B.A. in Digital Communications and Media from Westcliff University, California, where she graduated cum laude. Her M.B.A. training—spanning information systems, business digital media, strategic management, and e-business technologies—shapes her perspective on technology regulation. This enables her to approach digital governance not merely as a legal challenge, but also as a matter of business architecture, platform design, compliance strategy, institutional risk, and market dynamics.
Prof. Dev has worked extensively on global technology laws and regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions, including India, the United States, the European Union, Canada, Singapore, South Korea, and the broader JAPAC region. Before entering full-time academia, she worked with organisations including Twitter, WarnerMedia, Games24x7, and technology-sector legal teams, where she engaged with legal policy, trust and safety, platform governance, digital compliance, advertising regulation, intellectual property, data protection, and emerging technology regulation. Her work has included developing country-specific policy workflows, contributing to transparency reporting, conducting legal impact assessments, and advising on compliance with global laws such as the EU GDPR, California's CPA, Canada's PIPEDA, India’s IT Act and Rules, Digital Personal Data Protection Act, proposed Digital India Act, Digital Competition Bill, Singapore’s POFMA, South Korea’s PIPA, and the EU Artificial Intelligence Act.
At Jindal Global Law School, she designs and teaches courses in technology law including data protection regulations and AI regulation. Her teaching style draws from both academic scholarship and industry experience, with a focus on helping students understand how law operates in real-world digital systems, including platforms, AI products, data-driven businesses, online harms, global compliance teams, and regulatory institutions. She is particularly interested in making complex regulatory debates accessible to students while retaining their doctrinal, comparative, and political economy dimensions.
Her broader research and teaching interests lie in Tech Law, Internet Governance, and Trust and Safety, especially data governance, platform accountability, privacy and data protection, algorithmic harms, regulatory design, and the role of the Global South in shaping technology governance. Her work is grounded in a cross-jurisdictional understanding of how emerging technologies are governed, contested, commercialised, and institutionalised across legal systems.
