Biography

Akshat Srivastava graduated from National Law University, Delhi, with a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.). He practised in Delhi before turning to legal theory. He completed his LL.M. at the European Academy of Legal Theory, Goethe University Frankfurt, where he finished summa cum laude and was awarded the Themis Award for Best Master's Thesis.

His interests lie in legal and constitutional theory, comparative constitutional law, and legal history. Much of his work concerns the behaviour of constitutional courts and other institutions in periods of democratic decline, with India as its principal focus.

Before joining Jindal Global Law School, he taught at IILM University, Gurugram, and served as a Young Professional in the Law and Security vertical at NITI Aayog and as a Fellow at the Delhi Assembly Research Centre at the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
