Biography

Nayanika holds a master’s in law (LLM) degree from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences and a  B.A. LL.B. degree (with a first division) from National Law Institute University, Bhopal. She has worked for over four years as a corporate lawyer and has a vast array of experience in dealing with nuances pertaining to corporate and commercial laws. She has worked on both the transaction and advisory side and has worked on myriad laws including – company law, intellectual property laws, extant foreign exchange regulations, foreign contribution laws, contract laws and also employment laws.

While working she realized that she wanted to understand the depth effect of the advent of new technologies coming into play and the legal lacunae in dealing with such upcoming disruptions in the Media and Technology sector. This lead her to pursue her master’s s and delve deeper into the field of intellectual property, media and technology laws to understand the complexities of the said field. Her research interests lie in the intersection of intellectual property and generative AI as she often finds herself staring at the abyss of unanswered complex legal questions and the abyss staring back.
