Rajat Datta is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS). He holds a Bachelor's degree with a specialisation in History and Political Science from the University of Delhi, an LL.B. from Amity University, and an LL.M. in Corporate and Commercial Laws from Queen Mary University of London.
During his LL.M., Rajat pursued specialist courses in International Tax Law, European Union Tax Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Banking and FinTech Law, International Commercial Law, and Financial Market Regulation, reflecting his strong interest in cross-border commercial regulation and international taxation. He also served as a Legal Advisor at qLegal, the pro-bono commercial law clinic of Queen Mary University of London, where he advised start-ups, social enterprises, and small businesses on a range of commercial legal issues.
At JGLS, Rajat teaches courses including Company Law, Law of Taxation, Corporate Governance, and Legal Aspects of Business. He has also taught at the Jindal Global Business School (JGBS) while simultaneously teaching at JGLS. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he currently serves as Assistant Dean (Examinations), overseeing examination administration for the five-year undergraduate law programmes. Rajat is also the Faculty Advisor to the India Policy Forum (IPF), where he mentors students engaged in policy research and public policy initiatives.
His research primarily focuses on international taxation, digital taxation, and global tax governance. He has recently authored a research paper on Formulary Apportionment and is currently working on projects examining the taxation of intangible assets, the Global Minimum Tax, and the intersection of artificial intelligence and taxation.
