Biography

Idrish Mohammed completed his BA LLB from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi in 2018. He was awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship by the Foreign & Commonwealth Development Office of the UK Government to pursue an LLM from SOAS University of London, which he completed in 2023. His areas of teaching and research interest are Business and Human Rights, Minority Rights, Constitutional Law and Human Rights.

In 2025, he was selected as a Visiting Fellow at the European Center for Minority Issues, Flensburg, Germany, where he worked on the intersection of anthropology and law. During his fellowship, he engaged with questions of minority identity, cultural rights and legal frameworks governing minority communities.

He has extensive practical experience working across the judiciary, legislature and policy domains. He served as a Judicial Researcher to Justice Aftab Alam, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, and subsequently as a Judicial Researcher to the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court (2018–19). He has also served as Standing Counsel to several government, semi-government and private entities.

In 2021–22, he was selected as a Democracy and Constitutional Values Fellow at the School for Democracy, a fellowship funded by the Azim Premji Foundation, Bangalore, where he extensively researched on prisons, prisoners' rights and prison reforms.
