Biography

Harshita as a Ph.D. candidate at Jindal Global Law School, received two fellowship opportunities for her doctoral studies—the UGC’s Junior Research Fellowship and the JGU fellowship, ultimately choosing the latter. During her tenure as a Ph.D. fellow, she was chosen as the recipient for the Dean’s award. Her doctoral research focuses on analysing the legal gaps in Indian law concerning sex work and sex trafficking, particularly examining their impact on women in the commercial sex industry.

She completed her LL.M. in Criminal Law from the Indian Law Institute and earned her undergraduate degree from the Army Institute of Law, where she was awarded the AGIF scholarship. Beyond her legal pursuits, Harshita is passionate about animal welfare and actively participates in rescuing distressed animals.
