Biography

Eveleen Kaur Sidana is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat.

She has worked as an Assistant Professor in the School of Arts and Sciences, at Azim Premji University, Bhopal. She has done her Doctorate from the University of California, Davis, in Sociocultural Anthropology and completed her M.A. and M.Phil in Sociology, from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. She researches urban spaces focusing on infrastructure and mobilities, design, media, and digital technologies, and she has designed and taught undergraduate courses in Azim Premji University, Bhopal, and as an instructor at UC Davis. She has an aggregate of seven years teaching experience and her research combines sociology, technological studies, media and urban design. Having professional journalistic training and being a researcher, she critically examines various urban issues of our society. She is adept at collaboration, teamwork and dealing with diversity in an international as well as national setting. As an Indian Ocean Worlds scholar, she has presented her works at various forums — ICSSR sponsored conferences; American Anthropological Association; Annual Conference on South Asia University of Wisconsin-Madison; and the Society for Social Studies of Science. She has published research papers and public articles in academic journals and digital media-based publications on sociological, technological and development issues.

Eveleen has worked with the Cognizant Technology Solutions, Pune, as a programmer analyst and technical writer; & with Hindu BusinessLine, Chennai, as a sub-editor. Her educational background in Engineering, Journalism and Sociology, and her teaching and professional experience cover a wide canvas comprising infrastructures, urban spaces, pervasive media, and digital platforms and networks.
