Biography

Dr. Anjana Thampi is Associate Professor of Economics at Jindal Global Law School. She received her PhD in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She was a Fulbright-Kalam Postdoctoral Fellow at the Political Economy Research Institute, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Fellow under the 2025 Cornell University STARS programme. Her areas of research include climate and sustainability, food security and nutrition, inequality and elite studies, gender, and labour. Her recent and ongoing projects include climate adaptation and women’s work, gendered inequalities in wealth, and the impact of food provisioning programmes in India.
