Biography

Dr. Anindita Jaiswal Jaishiv is a distinguished law academician specializing in business and corporate law, corporate governance, and, diversity and inclusion. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh, where her research focused on gender diversity in corporate boardrooms. Dr. Jaishiv earned her LL.M. and B.B.A. LL.B. with honors from NLU, Jodhpur, ranking at the top of her class. 

Currently an Associate Professor, Dr. Jaishiv teaches courses on “company law”, “mergers and acquisitions”, and “foreign investments & foreign exchange management” to undergraduate and postgraduate students, while also supervising LLM dissertations. She also serves as an Online Course Tutor for School of Law at the University of Edinburgh, teaching "corporate governance" and supervising LLM dissertation research, and has previously taught courses on “business entities”, “company law”, and “investment law”.

Prior to her engagement with JGLS, Dr. Jaiswal has worked at NLSIU, Bengaluru, and NALSAR, Hyderabad, teaching courses on “corporate law”, “foreign exchange management”, “entrepreneurship and law”, and “strategic diversity”. In 2019, she conducted a module on "Law Power and Justice" for Swayam, an initiative by the MHRD, Government of India. 

In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Jaishiv has over four years of corporate legal experience as an associate at Majmudar & Partners, one of India's top corporate law firms. Dr. Jaishiv is a certified diversity specialist and has led programs to promote institutional diversity strategies. She has published widely, including in the “Journal of Corporate Law Studies”, and is a reviewer for the “Indian Law Review”. She is a chapter (commentator) in the book “Scottish Feminist Judgments: (Re)Creating Law from the Outside In”, and has provided her editorial assistance to the book “Procedural Fairness in International Courts and Tribunals”. Additionally, she worked on a year-long research project sponsored by the National Stock Exchange of India, which has been published.
