Biography

Dhyuthi completed her BA with a joint honours degree in law and criminology at the University of Kent in 2015-2018. She also pursued a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Policy in the London School of Economics in 2019-2020.

She worked with the Kent Law Clinic as a lead case worker, in the Criminal Justice Project initiative; where she worked with NGOs like the Prisoners Advice Service (PAS), UK, where she helped with giving legal advice on appeals and informing prisoners of their rights in prison. She also worked with JENbA (Joint Enterprise – Not Guilty by Association), which was an organisation that helped draft court appeals after the changed laws on joint criminal enterprise in the UK.

Her research interests lie in exploring how and for whose purposes criminal justice policies and systems operate. She is also interested in the interplay between religious beliefs and conceptions of crime, guilt and sin; prison and penal reform; and in how historic and cultural traditions influence attitudes towards crimes and offenders.
