Apoorvi Jha is an Lecturer at Jindal Global law School and an International Sports Law enthusiast. She completed her BA. LL. B (Hons.) from Jindal Global University in 2017 and thereafter joined Instituto Superior Dereche y Economia (ISDE), Madrid, Spain to complete her LL. M in International Sports Law in 2018.

During her study days at Jindal Global Law School, she became the Teaching Assistant to Prof. Weatherly Schwab in her 4th year and taught Sports Law to JGU students for two semesters. After graduation, she joined the team of Prof. Shaun Star to help him successfully conduct JGU’s first Advanced Sports Law program focusing on Indian and Australian Cricket Affairs, wherein Apoorvi gained firsthand teaching experience from Dr. Sarah Kelly (Head of Sports Law Department at Queensland University, Brisbane). Apoorvi was an integral part of the managerial team for the program as the program also consisted of few exchange students from Queensland University, Brisbane.

She is working in the International Sports Law industry since 2018 and has been acting as an International Sports Dispute advisory to her clients, mostly from the football law world. She joined Tannuri Ribeiro Advogados – an International Sports Law firm, specializing in football disputes (transactional and disciplinary). Her office was based at Sao Paulo, Brazil and she worked as the second in command for the Founding Partner of the firm (Dr. Breno Costa Tannuri). Her work was dedicated to only International Football Law disputes and she litigated and drafted many cases in front of the FIFA legal bodies and the Court of Arbitration for Sports while advised in the draft of football transfer and commercial contracts for various top tier football clubs around the world. After 15 months of practice Apoorvi left Brazil and joined LawNK, Bangalore – a leading Sports Law firm in India for a short period of 3 months.

Apoorvi’s interest and passion for Sports Law has encouraged her to join the JGU team, so that she can focus more on researching and developing various issues revolving around the sports industry (not just legal but also managerial) like doping, sports arbitration, FIFA and other sports organizations’ regulations, policy making, digital and tech advancement in sports, etc.

Apoorvi has professionally played Lawn Tennis and she is a sports enthusiast and enjoys watching several sports like Football, lawn Tennis, Formula 1 and Basketball. She likes to research on current International Sports Law related matters with a special eye for Football Law disputes. Other IP related disputes like copy right infringements and Ambush Marketing in sports also intrigues her as much as playing Lawn Tennis.
