Biography

Akash Gupta serves as an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School, where he teaches Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) courses. Additionally, he holds key roles in the legal academia landscape, contributing as the Assistant Editor for the Indian Review of International Arbitration (MNLU), a Peer Review Board Member for the Indian Arbitration Law Review (NLIU), and an Advisory Board Member of the RMLNLU Law Review (RMLNLU). In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Akash was honoured with the Young ADR Academic of the Year award by the Asia Pacific Centre for Arbitration & Mediation in 2023.

Beyond his academic pursuits, Akash has been appointed as a Sole Arbitrator in 50 disputes and as a Sole Conciliator in 250 disputes, showcasing his expertise in the field. He has conducted workshops and credit courses on various subjects, including Arbitration, Mediation, Negotiation, Mooting, and ADR Competitions, reaching out to students at 40 different law schools. Notably, he has shared his insights with prestigious institutions such as Stockholm University, the University of Bristol, CNLU, NUALS, TNNLU, among others. Furthermore, he has generously volunteered as a judge for over 90 moots and ADR competitions, including renowned events like the Vis, Jessup, Stetson, FDI, NLSTIAM, and more.

Currently, he is enrolled in a Ph.D. program focusing on ADR at GD Goenka University. He completed his LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration Law from Stockholm University in 2019, during which he participated in the Vis Moot, securing a position among the Top 16 out of 372 global teams and receiving an Honourable Mention for the Best Memorandum for Claimant. He graduated from Tamil Nadu National Law University in 2018, and has pursued additional legal studies at The Hague Academy of International Law, the Netherlands (sponsored), and the Paris Arbitration Academy (with full scholarship), as well as the WIPO Academy.
