Biography

Abhinav Mehrotra is an Associate Professor, Jindal Global Law School and Assistant Director, Centre for the Study of United Nations, O.P. Jindal Global University. He teaches courses on Human Rights Law and Theory, Law and Practice of the United Nations, International Criminal Law and Public International Law to law students. He has been published in various reputed journals and books internationally, including the Australian Yearbook of International Law, Asian Journal of International Law, India Quarterly, etc., and has attended various International Conferences organised by bodies like Asian Society of International Law, Global Alliance for Justice Education and the Academic Council on the United Nations System in University of Zurich, Switzerland,Stellenbosch University, South Africa, NUS Singapore, UN University Tokyo etc. 

In the past, he has worked as a Law clerk-cum-Research Assistant under Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw in the Delhi High Court. He also has experience working as a researcher with the People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL), Jaipur, where he was involved with issues related to the right to education, prison reforms, and homelessness.

He completed his Masters in Law (2018-2019), specializing in International Human Rights Law from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and his Bachelors in Law (LL.B.) from Jindal Global Law School, OP Jindal Global University in 2018. During his LL.M. programme, he was appointed as School Representative for the School of Law, University of Leeds, United Kingdom. 

His research interests include International Law, Human Rights Law, UN studies, Refugee Law, Child Rights, and Transitional Justice. Besides academics, he enjoys playing cricket and has represented the Rajasthan State Cricket Team at under 16 and under-19 levels.
