Client Counselling Society

Introduction: Client Counselling Society seeks to teach and promote the counselling functions of the legal practice. It aims to hone the soft skills associated with planning, critical thinking, legal analysis of a situation and on the spot thinking. The society does so by facilitating students to participate in Client Counselling competitions not only in India but also in other countries through competitions such as the ALSA Client Counselling Competition and the Louise M. Brown Client Counselling Competition. The competitions are updated frequently to provide the students with the best opportunities possible. Rigorous and mandatory training is done while preparing the students for these competitions to help them put their best foot forward. The society’s vision to promote and teach the soft skills of dealing with clients during the practice of law within students throughout the law school.

Currently, the society has one induction cycle in an Academic year and has an intake of 40 students but in teams of two. This is based on the format of the competitions the students are required to participate in, which helps build teamwork.
