Dr. Anjana Thampi is an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School. She works on the areas of food security, nutrition, employment, inequality and gender. She completed her PhD in Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her doctoral thesis assessed whether food provisioning programmes have mitigated the mismatch between economic growth and nutritional indicators in India, and explored the impact of two such programmes on child nutrition and inequality. She has published journal articles and book chapters, and contributes opinion pieces on contemporary issues. Prior to joining JGU, she worked at IWWAGE, LEAD at Krea University, New Delhi and the Centre for Sustainable Employment, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru. She is an affiliate of the Global Labor Organization, and her collaborative work was awarded by the Indian Society of Labour Economics.
