Avaantika graduated from Jindal Global Law School in 2016. She started her professional journey with a boutique law firm in Bombay. She soon realised that her calling and passion was in Children’s Rights. This lead to her joining CSJ (Counsel for Social Justice) as a legal counsel representing child sexual abuse victims in Delhi Courts specifically POCSO Special Courts, Delhi High Court and the Juvenile Justice Board, where she spent two years. During this time, she got to work closely with government bodies on advocacy of children’s rights as well.
With her profession soon becoming a passion, she decided to pursue an Advanced LLM in International Children’s Rights from Leiden University to get a deeper understanding & an international perspective on children’s rights and help bridge the gap between domestic and international law.
Her areas of interest and specialization are International Children’s Rights Law, domestic Criminal Law specifically POCSO & Juvenile Justice and Human Rights Law.
