If Coffee Mugs Could Speak – II

I’ve been recruited today,

I excitedly wait

For my first task on the job

To be entrusted

With my eagerness and charm

I shall do no harm

Like let coffee spill (The previous one did,

So he’s been done and dusted);

I’m more travel friendly

And less worse for wear –

Rest assured, I wear no

Monocles;

I have no handlebar

And no cracks for scars

Unlike the old man before me

Who liked to chronicle

I will humbly help you steal

The mess’ coffee and tea

To help with late-night bouts of

Exhaustion –

But unlike the porcelain before me

And the bone-china even before

I tend to burn your hand,

So please, caution.
