Biography

Dr. Shilpa Gupta is currently an Associate Professor of Practice & Additional Director of French language & culture, Centre for Foreign Languages, Office of English & Foreign Languages at O.P. Jindal Global university, Sonipat, Haryana. Dr. Gupta is an accomplished academic and language professional with over 23 years of experience in French language education & teaching across diverse proficiency levels. She holds a PhD from O.P. Jindal Global University, an M.A. in French Literature, and an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Textile Technology from the University of Delhi, along with several advanced French certifications from Alliance Française de Delhi. She is the founding faculty of French language at O.P. Jindal Global University. She has also taught at esteemed colleges of Delhi University (Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Hansraj College, Daulat Ram College, Swami Shraddhanand College) and Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Management & Research, Delhi (affiliated with Bharti Vidyapeeth University, Pune). Her research interests include foreign language acquisition in Indian higher education, the development of learner-centric teaching methodologies, comparative linguistics, contrastive analysis, applied didactics, and the application of French in business studies particularly through television advertisements as pedagogical tools. She has presented her research at international academic forums in Poland, Hungry, France, and India, addressing themes such as immigrant identity in Beur literature, contrastive analysis of French & English legal language, and innovations in FLE pedagogy. She has been awarded faculty development scholarships by the French Embassy and University of Delhi for specialized trainings at institutions such as CLA, Centre de Linguistique Appliqué, Grenoble, and Université Franche Comté, Besançon, in France. She also currently serves as a French language evaluator at MIT World Peace University, Pune, and is an active member of academic interview panels and jury boards for prominent schools in Delhi. Beyond academics, Dr. Gupta volunteers her time teaching underprivileged children through the Government of India’s “Each One Teach One” initiative.
