Biography

I did my PhD from the Department of Sociology, South Asian University, Delhi. My PhD is titled, ‘Mobility and Moorings: An Ethnographic Study of Everyday Economy among a Laboring Group in Rajasthan’. My fieldwork is in rural Rajasthan among formerly itinerant communities as they transition towards wage-earning and labor migration in agriculture, construction and mining worksites. I am interested in understanding the intimate worlds of precarious labor and landscapes of poverty. In my doctoral thesis, she examines the way political economy informs experiences and subjectivities in the making of self, family and community.

I am also an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Writing Studies, OP Jindal University since 2021. I teach courses on academic writing and story-telling in the social sciences.
