Biography

Sindhura, is currently working as a Research fellow at JSPC. She is one among the first batch of certified Dance Movement Therapists in India, continuing to contribute to the growth and promotion of DMT as a healing art. She rendered a number of DMT sessions at diverse settings in India. She qualified UGC- NET during her Master’s in 2016. She has delivered guest lectures at institutes like NIPCCD, Andhra University, University of Delhi, etc. She is an active member of National Academy of Psychology and a life member of Counsellor Council of India.

Professional Experience

She has 3 years of experience in Counselling different populations at multiple settings. In the initial days of her career, she worked for Women and Child Development Ministry as a counseling psychologist for the under trial juveniles. She has provided counseling services to the CCLs and their families, interviewed them, and made individual action plans to manage their unhealthy behaviors. While providing case management services, she also made recommendations to juvenile courts and social service agencies. As a Senior Wellness Coach, she carried out training sessions for the personality development of Corporate employees. She is also a former Counselor at OPJGU and was responsible for planning, promoting, and executing Mental Health programs on campus.

Research

She has worked on Time perspective as a predictor of quality of life for her Master’s dissertation. She has presented paper titled: An outlook on the perception of friendship in different cultures in India, at 3rd International Conference on Counselling, Psychotherapy and Wellness held by Christ University, Bengaluru. She had an opportunity to present her work on the relationship between Creativity and well-being at a conference on Work, Stress and Health: Recent Perceptions, Future Trends held at St. Bedes’ college, Shimla.
